The Gate

Collaborative Studio was asked to choose finishes for a former bridal store to be converted into a worship center for The Gate, a non-denominational church in Franklin, Tenn. When the client described their music-centered, heartfelt worship services, and their desire for space to gather, have fellowship, and relax, Collaborative Studio suggested something more than paint to convert the low-slung retail store into something inspiring. The contemporary interior uses curved forms to divide common areas from the worship center. For the worship center’s 9-foot ceiling, the solution was to actually lower the ceiling by hanging acoustic baffles and paint the ceiling black, thereby tricking the eye into thinking the ceiling reaches to the heavens.

Courtyard by Marriott – Nashville Downtown

The historical Marriott Downtown Courtyard building was in need of a major renovation. Collaborative Studio’s goal in this transformation was to highlight the architectural elements of the historic bank building while introducing a modern representation to the hotel’s public spaces. Original elements, such as the iron entry gates and decorative ceiling, not only preserved the historical integrity of the structure, but also provided complementary focal points throughout the space. The addition of a bar and a bistro area introduced a luxurious impression to the existing elements.

C3 Consulting

Collaborative Studio worked closely with C3 Consulting to develop a space to meet their specific needs. Flexible meeting space that can be a vehicle for creative brainstorming sessions was critical. Acid-treated metal panels, concrete floors and garage doors give the space a modern feel while maintaining the warmth of the natural materials used.

Hampton Inn – West End

This project was a major renovation of an existing Hampton Inn in the West End area of Nashville, TN. The lobby of the hotel was completely renovated with a new front desk, lighting, finishes, furniture, and custom artwork to incorporate the new brand identity. The scope also included a new breakfast area, which was moved downstairs. This allowed us to create a great lounge space which guests can use all day. In addition, renovations were done on the meeting rooms and fitness room.

HCA Café

Nashville-based healthcare provider HCA wanted to upgrade their corporate campus cafeteria. Collaborative Studio not only designed the renovation of their existing cafeteria, but also developed a marketing package for internal use with the goal of obtaining support and funding for the project. The addition and use of new food service equipment, enhanced food display, signage, lighting, and ceiling elements emphasized the healthful new food concept promoted by the company. The new design endorses the corporate philosophy of health and wellness for its team.
